This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students are bright, creative, funny, and resilient. The abrupt change to distance learning was certainly challenging, but our kids have shown us just how adaptable and strong they are throughout it all. Unfortunately, school funding is being greatly affected by the current pandemic.

Our school's budget was slashed by 10%, eliminating more than 10 staff positions on campus, including our music teacher and school librarian.

We know it won't be easy, but as teachers, we will do whatever it takes to continue to provide as much support as our students need.

My Project

The one thing we know for sure is that the coming school year will be unique! We have no idea if we will even be able to start the year in the classroom or if we will continue with distance learning. Regardless, we have 2 groups of 2nd graders coming to us in August, and we can't wait to meet them!

These supplies will help us to make our new students feel welcome and excited for a brand new school year.

It's important to us that we can provide supplies for our students so that families and teachers don't have to carry the financial burden.
