Supplies for Smiles: Empowering Young Minds

My Project

In our Title 1 fifth-grade classroom, many students arrive each day without the basic supplies they need to fully participate in learning. Items like pencils, notebooks, folders, crayons, dry-erase markers, and glue sticks may seem small, but they are essential tools that help my students stay organized, focused, and confident. For families facing financial challenges, purchasing school supplies can be difficult. By providing these materials, I can ensure that all of my students have what they need to succeed, regardless of their circumstances.

Fifth grade is a critical year where students take on more responsibility and prepare for middle school.

With the right supplies, we can dive into more complex projects, interactive notebooks, and collaborative learning activities that help deepen their understanding in all subject areas. Whether it’s writing in journals, solving multi-step math problems, or completing science investigations, having access to quality materials empowers students to do their best work. These supplies also help us maintain a clean and structured classroom, where students can take pride in their learning environment.
