My Students

I am teaching a remote first-grade class that is comprised of students of all capabilities. Many of my students come from families who are new to the country; therefore, they are learning the English language. I also have some students who require special services. My students come from varied backgrounds with different economic needs.

I am excited that my boys and girls are reading and writing.

Many of them are reading at a second-grade level, and I am very proud of them for that. They come to school every day eager to learn.

My Project

Next year, due to the Covid Pandemic, the supplies that teachers have access to are less than normal. Schools have faced budget cuts, teachers lost their spending budgets and we have been asked to not ask families to send in supplies since so many people have been financially affected during these hard times. This has left many of us, teachers, buying the necessities that the students need to be successful in the classroom. I am asking for basic materials such as notebooks, crayons, and folders which are used in the classroom to reinforce lessons.
