This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project will help support all the mathematicians I am working with. These basic classroom supplies will be used in various ways in the classroom to accelerate math learning. We are constantly using our dry erase sleeves during our math lessons and students always have whiteboard markers at their fingertips ready to answer a question. The dry erase sleeves will enhance our instruction by providing scaffolds, like graphic organizers, to access Tier One. Having a dry erase sleeve where students can insert their graphic organizer and use it during instruction will save time for more learning and help us continue to close the achievement gap. With these dry erase sleeves students will be able to share their work with their classmates and make connections between different models and strategies they used to solve the problem. They will be able to share their thinking with other classmates.

The supplies in my classroom can make all the difference in how I teach my students!

For example the 5th graders are currently learning about place value. Instead of students taking the time to draw out a place value chart daily, having one inserted into our sleeves will allow students to access it at any time. These may be basic supplies to some, but to our classroom, they are necessary every day to enhance our learning. Thank you in advance for helping out our future mathematicians. The Mr. Sketch markers will also support the students in creating anchor charts that they refer to during their learning with modeled worked examples.
