My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school, my students are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom.

Despite the many challenges they face, they always come excited to learn something new.

Our school is constantly trying to support our families with food, clothing, and supplies. Some of our parents are working 2-3 jobs just to get by and it is hard to ask for additional school supplies on top on it. Our students receive free breakfast and lunch everyday. Most of my class gets to take home a backpack of food once of week provided by our school. We really try to help out our families!

My Project

We are in desperate need of basic school supplies such as folders, highlighters and crayons, to finish out the school year. These supplies would help my students give extra details to their work, help with their organizational skills, and allows the student to accept responsibility for their items.

Our supplies have quit on us, and we need your help to get back to work!

We have worked so hard that our original supplies have diminished. My students have taken care of the supplies they were given at the beginning of the year, and we are working with stubby crayons and overly worked markers. We are ready for new supplies!
