Supplies for Fantastic Fourth Graders

Help me give my students 4 cartons of copy paper, tissue, hand sanitizer, and tissue, so that I can provide the basic needs to thrive as students.

My Students

I teach at a unique single sex urban public education campus in a primarily impoverished area of Washington, DC. Our girls are bright, full of energy, and determined to break barriers! We value sisterhood and like all great women, we will succeed.

Inquisitive, enthusiastic, and creative; my students are eager to immerse themselves in any kind of challenge.

They take challenges head on and are inspired to be the best they can be. When it comes to learning, they are fearless and just need the basic tools and resources to propel them forward in order prepare them to be productive competitors in the 21st century.

My Project

Imagine you have no pencil to draft the most wondrous piece of writing. What if you had no hand sanitizer to clean your hands? Better yet, what if you had no tissue for your runny nose? Sounds a bit crazy, but around this time of the year supplies become very low and scenarios like this become the norm.

Basic school supplies such as paper, pencils, and tissue will allow my classroom to flow as a normal classroom should run.

By having these school supplies, students will be able to actively participate in class, become more engaged in the lesson, and function in a safe and healthy environment. Making sure students are prepared, healthy and comfortable is an essential part in motivating them to succeed in class.
