My Students

I teach at a rural elementary school in Central Florida. I am fortunate enough to work with a diverse group of students who present me with new experiences every day! My students come from a variety of social/emotional, economic, and behavioral backgrounds. My students come to school every day eager to learn and become leaders.

Through empowerment, my students are able to take ownership of their feelings, goals, and learning in ways that will enrich their educational experience for the rest of their lives!

In our classroom, I incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, alternative seating, and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met in the manner most conducive to their learning style. Each child is an individual with amazing potential waiting to be unlocked!

My Project

During this unusual time, students will be required to have individual supplies for safety reasons when traveling to art class.The other teachers on my team and I will use these materials with the entire third grade student population for individual art pouches.

Access to art will be a needed outlet for students to express their creativity and release some tension during this extremely unusual time.

In addition, these materials will help offset the cost to parents as we go back to school during a pandemic that has impacted many lives.
