Supplies for Dance Classroom - Fitness & Technology

My students need dance supplies such as therabands, a mesh ball bag, lightening chords, and a covers for our new macbook airs.

My Students

My students are challenged every day in my class. My goal is to bring them something new in each and every class in order to challenge them and keep them engaged in the classroom.

Students immerse themselves a multitude of ways that push them to new limits and challenge them physically and emotionally.

Dance classes are my favorite classes to teach because my students are motivated and they really seek to push themselves to the limits. The students in my classes this year have an incredible ability to soak up choreography like a sponge and their group dynamic is very caring and compassionate. My students are eager learners who are diverse culturally and socio-economically. Our school is a college preparatory high school in Southern California with a rigorous curriculum that is high-demanding. Students are expected to rise to the occasion academically despite social and financial obstacles that they may face. Our school is designated low socio-economic status and we are deemed a Title 1 school.

My Project

I would like to bring in some new supplies into the classroom in order to continue to challenge my students in new ways. One way I can do this is by using therabands. Recently, we have been working on core strengthening and we have been working on coordination along with overall muscle strengthening. One way to achieve this is by using therabands as a support to what I am already doing with the students in class. Additionally, we need several supplies for our supply closet. These include 3 lightening chords, a mesh bag, and 2 covers for our macbook airs. I want to be able to help my students charge their phones when necessary during rehearsals because I do expect them to bring their own phones with music. Additionally, we recently received several bouncy balls and I need a place to store these so we will use the mesh bag to do so. Lastly, the laptop cases will help protect the valuable technology that we already have in the classroom.

It is my job to preserve the supplies that we do have which is why I need the mesh bag along with the lightening chords and the laptop cases.

It is also my job to inspire my students to move in new ways. Please help me do this with purchasing therabands. Thank you for your time and consideration. Our performing arts program means the world to many of my students; your support is greatly appreciated.
