My Students
My students are English Language Leaners who are eager to learn and explore the world around them. I teach at a Title I school in Brooklyn where all students receive free breakfast, lunch and basic school supplies.
Most of these students do not have opportunities to leave their neighborhood, and live in crowded apartments where they lack personal space.
My hope is to provide a classroom environment and classroom supplies which allow students to feel comfortable learning in the mode and location of their choosing, both in school and at home.
My Project
One of my favorite things about starting a new school year is new school supplies. Most of my students cannot afford high quality school supplies, and I love being able to provide these for them.
This year, I plan to provide each student with individual supplies for learning, whether at home or in school.
Pencil cases, crayons, dry erase boards and markers are just a few things that I know will bring smiles to their faces. Headphones will allow students to find a quiet place to learn, in homes where quiet spots may not exist.
