Help me give my students the supplies to create beautiful sculptural artwork inspired by Dale Chihuly.

My Project

These supplies will enable my students to create artwork beyond the 2-D materials available in class and explore sculpture as a creative and artistic medium of expression and form. Students will create colorfully painted sculptural bowls inspired by renowned artist, Dale Chihuly. This sculptural project will present a wonderful opportunity for my students to think about creating artwork beyond the limitations of paper and pencil and broaden their horizons to the possibilities that can be achieved in the art-making process. For the last two years, my students have been excited about creating something they can "make," not simply artwork they can hang on the wall. Making these Chihuly-inspired bowls will encourage my art students to try new techniques and give them a sense of accomplishment when they get to present the final result.

The heat embossing tools for the project will be able to be reused for future projects, allowing me to purchase fewer supplies for the same art project in future semesters.
