My Students

My kindergarten students are learning and growing in a short period of time. They come from diverse backgrounds and bring different strengths to the classroom. My school has students who come from many different backgrounds, both cultural and economic.

Each child is encouraged to develop at his or her own pace.

I love engaging them in conversations, asking them to describe what they are doing, help them make new friends, and provide a variety of activities to spark imagination and facilitate learning. Exploring new ideas is very exciting for these little scholars.

I focus on the fact that every child is unique that learning can be fun. There is so much for young students to explore, I never want them to be bored with learning. I always want my students to leave my classroom knowing everything they need to be successful in first grade.

My Project

The Covid pandemic has caused challenges in all aspects of student learning. The crayons, journals, glue sticks, and art chalk will allow students to use individual supplies that will not have to be shared. The laminating sheets will allow me to sanitize worksheets in between students and save paper.

The STEM and Literacy games will allow students to learn many important social skills they were not able to practice during distance learning.

They will communicate, compromise and use teamwork as they complete tasks together. All of the supplies will aid student learning.
