Supplies for a School-Based Occupational Therapist!
Help me give my students special education supplies for this school year! I am an occupational therapist who buys her own supplies and I can't afford to pay for my own this year.

My Project
Hello, my name is Diana and I am a school-based occupational therapist who works in special education. I currently work at one elementary school, three middle schools, and two high schools.
My elementary students, especially my students with autism, have high needs in the area of their sensory processing/modulation skills.
The items that I included on this list that are sensory-related (manipulatives, weighted lap pads, feet cushions, sensory rings, etc.) will be really helpful for kiddos with sensory challenges. Any items that assist them with their sensory needs will allow them to access their curriculum with more ease. These items also help assist me in being able to provide for the students when I am not there, so they can easily transition between classroom tasks.
As an OT, I also work heavily on visual motor and fine motor skills which transfer over to letter formation and handwriting skills. The items on my list such as the dry-erase boards, handwriting sheets, and markers will be very useful for my students in learning those important writing/tracing/copying skills.
The board games I included on my list are for my middle/high schoolers who need extra help with their praxis/motor planning skills in being able to do multistep tasks. Our motor planning skills relate to our ability to do novel tasks in the right order while remembering how to repeat and complete the task as necessary.
I started this project because recently I had about $200 worth of therapy items accidentally thrown away by a custodian at one of my schools, so my budget for items is lower this school year than I had planned. Any donation you can give will be highly appreciated and used extensively by me and my 55 wonderful students.
