This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The supplies I am requesting help my students with a variety of projects and activities throughout the year. Much of our time in class is spent reading, writing, and discussing but projects are also an integral part of ELA.

So many students benefit from going beyond the textbook and engaging with the material via images and sound.

Headphones are especially important for some students that benefit from having text read aloud to them - aiding in their ability to concentrate. Many activities having to do with poetry and tone in literature are also highlighted by having audio played back. Chart paper and markers help us make outlines for class and help students make artistic presentations we can easily post on our walls. Hexagonal post-its also help us visually connect themes and concepts in our literature.

These supplies will help our students work with ELA content in ways that connect them with their senses and each other - via sound, art, and group work.
