My Project

In my fourth-grade class, the need for school supplies is becoming increasingly evident. At the beginning of the school year, many of my students did not bring the necessary supplies, and now, as we move further into the academic year, our available resources are dwindling. This shortage of supplies is particularly challenging given that our school falls under the Title 1 category, with over 90% of our students coming from low-income families who rely on free lunch programs. As a result, these students often lack the means to provide their own supplies, placing an additional burden on our classroom resources.

One of the most pressing concerns is the lack of basic supplies such as scissors, notebooks, and dry erase markers.

These essentials are crucial for students to engage actively in their learning and complete assignments. Without these tools readily available, some students may struggle to keep up with their coursework, which can have a detrimental impact on their academic progress. Additionally, the current lack of supplies also hinders the creativity and engagement of our classroom projects, making it challenging for students to explore and develop their full potential.

Furthermore, considering our students' socioeconomic backgrounds, providing extra snacks in the classroom would be immensely beneficial. These snacks can be a valuable resource for students who face hunger at school or who need something to take home after a long day of learning. Ensuring that our students have access to nourishing food can help alleviate some of the stress and uncertainty they may face outside of the classroom, enabling them to focus better on their studies. We believe that, with the support of generous donors, we can bridge the gap and ensure that our students have the necessary supplies and additional resources to thrive in their education.
