Supplies and Necessities for Safe & Successful Students

Help me give my students pencils, notebooks, hand soap, and Lysol wipes, so that they can be safe and successful.

My Project

My students often come to school without the proper tools to learn. They come from homes where parents are unable to provide the necessities for school. As their teacher, I take it upon myself to provide them with basic school supplies such as pencils, markers, notebooks, binders, scissors, and folders. These supplies will allow my students to have literacy and math folders. In the literacy folder, students will be able to answer text dependent questions and provide extended responses to various writing prompts. The math folders will allow students to show their calculations along with providing written responses to explain their thinking. My students will use these supplies daily. These materials will help my students reach their potential with the curriculum. The cleaning supplies will help to keep students safe. Having wipes and Lysol will help keep germs away.

Instead of letting my classroom become a place where students are reminded of what they do not have, I want to provide them with an environment that is nourishing, supportive and has the supplies needed to be a successful student.

Funding this project will ensure that my students have the necessary materials so they can be safe and successful in the classroom.

Knowing that they have their own supplies will give them a since of ownership. This will also boost my student’s self esteem. No child will feel left out.
