My Project
Having taught before and during the COVID-19 pandemic, I have seen how traumatized our students have been. My 5th graders can use technology wonderfully, but they have struggled this year with focus, stamina in their seats, and being able to appropriately relate to each other socially and emotionally. I believe that class novel studies, with books in hand for each student, will help my students have a shared experience, bond together, relate to each other during discussions of characters and choices, and build stamina and focus.
