My Project

I teach 5th grade science at a Title I school where the majority of my students come from low-income households. Over the past four years, I have personally funded most of the resources in my classroom to ensure my students have the tools they need. This year, I'm reaching out for support to help bridge critical gaps in science education. At our campus, students are not formally introduced to science until the third grade, yet they are expected to take their first high-stakes science assessment in fifth grade. This leaves a very short window to not only build foundational knowledge, but also to spark curiosity and confidence in the subject.

Your support will help enrich and extend classroom instruction by providing science-related books that will allow me to make science more engaging and accessible for all learners—especially those who may need extra encouragement or learn best through reading.

With your help, I hope to inspire a deeper connection to science and ensure that no student slips through the cracks.
