I have twenty-two fifth grade students who come from a variety of backgrounds. I need supplemental readers, such as SuperScience magazine from Scholastic, which will cater to all of the needs of my students.
Many of my students are at-risk, and of low socioeconomic status.
I know that my students are fully capable of becoming successful teachers, doctors, and future business owners. My students are great kids who are very eager to learn! They would be thrilled to know that someone cares about them.
My Project
SuperScience is a monthly classroom magazine that really gets kids reading. Issues cover a wide range of topics that kids love to learn about, and it's one of the best non-fiction supplemental materials out there. Every issue has comprehensive lesson plans complete with inquiry activities, web links, pre and post reading questions, skills pages, test prep quizzes, and standards connections.
This is my sixth year teaching fifth grade.
I still have limited access to supplemental materials for my students. Your donation will make it possible for all of my fifth grade students to have access to science supplemental materials. Thank you very much for contributing to the achievement of my students. This project will provide an excellent opportunity for my students to learn important concepts from the three core curriculum areas of science.
