My students range from pre-K through fifth grade. They include students with Autism, ADHD, intellectual delays, dyslexia, articulation delays and other disorders or delays that restrict them from communicating effectively. These students are in both special and general education environments.
My students come from diverse backgrounds and need help developing their speech and language skills.
Many of the students also have difficulties focusing and deserve an environment conducive to learning. Helping these students reach their potential is a priority to me. Developing their speech and language skills is essential to their success in all aspects of education.
My Project
This horseshoe table will help provide speech and language therapy services to both special needs and general education population students. This table will benefit Pre-K through grade 5 students in groups of 3. It will facilitate group interaction among students as I guide them through their lessons.
It is important for the students to be comfortable, with enough work surface to successfully complete assignments and activities.
This table will allow me to engage students and keep them focused as I will be able to interact with them directly. Direct contact is especially important for my special needs students.
