This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The Dual Immersion students at our Title I school have been working extremely hard to succeed in mathematics and reading. As a Spanish dual immersion teacher of our 2nd grade students we have noticed that the children are able to learn the more difficult math and reading concepts as we provide intentional support and safe spaces.

We are searching for supplies that will provide a calming corner library to better support quiet reading and spaces of security and comfort for relaxation between difficult math lesson concepts.

Our students have demonstrated great progress on their quiz and test scores when they have been provided with support for learning and processing information that is best suited to them, we'll be able to do this with individualize printed materials purchased through teachers pay teachers, a quiet corner, and a reward system based on effort. This upcoming year, we know we have students who need solo time and this quiet corner with books in both Spanish and English will lead to a better classroom environment for everyone. We have also seen amazing results with treasure boxes and unique prizes catered to the dynamic of our class. We are excited for the opportunity to provide an environment where learning is fun and for everyone.
