My Students

These first graders are energetic, hard-working, determined students who love coming to school every day! The students live in a high poverty section of the city, and the majority of them receive free breakfast and lunch at school. We have a large population of ESL learners and are increasing our inclusion classroom settings each year.

These students are eager to learn, to explore, and to be challenged!

Our school is a small, close-knit community where our students are taught to believe in themselves and that anything is possible!

My Project

My students use supplies daily in our classroom in all academic areas! Dry erase markers, erasers, and Expo spray help us daily during our phonics instruction where we list word families and practice sentence writing. The students writing work is organized in file folders, and our library books are stored in magazine holders which always need an update. Small materials like erasers, binder clips, white out, Post-it Notes, staples, sharpie pens are used throughout the day in many areas and wear and tear makes these materials necessary to be replenished. The students take pride in their work, and I want them to have all the tools they need to be successful!
