Super Supplies Make Super Scholars

My students need pencils, folders, paper, and dry erase markers to be successful in 4th grade!

FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Cox's classroom raised $389

This project is fully funded

My Students

My students primarily come from an underprivileged population in an urban environment. Many of my students do not have the resources at home to maximize their learning potential. It is my goal, then, to provide them with the best tools and resources possible for the time that they are in my classroom.

I believe that every one of my students can be college-bound, despite the fact that many of them come from families where this has not been a reality.

In order to achieve this goal, my students will need a variety of tools to meet their needs as individual learners.

My Project

There are some very basic supplies that students need on a regular basis to engage with the material they are learning in the classroom - supplies such as pencils, folders, dry erase markers, and paper. My students and their families are not always able to provide these supplies on their own.

If you've ever read the poem "Cause I Ain't Got a Pencil" by Joshua T Dickerson, you understand the realities that many of my students face on a day to day basis.

I don't want to be the teacher who "fussed cause [they] ain't got a pencil." Students will use the pencils and paper to practice their writing skills - from sentences to paragraphs to essays. They will use the folders to practice organizational skills that will benefit them for years to come. They will use the dry erase markers in centers to engage with learning content in a meaningful way. Your donation will go toward helping provide my students with the necessities to ensure that we have a year full of growth and learning. Thank you!
