This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 20 hard working, amazing first grade students in a low income, small East Texas town. They love to work with hands-on activities, make creative art projects, play games, and learn through technology. My students do not respond as positively to worksheets or seat work activities as they do to physically manipulating skills with manipulative's or using a device.

I strive to make my classroom a fun and exciting, but also engaging learning environment for all of my students.

My Project

My students are in need of new stools for our station tables. Our chairs are so bulky and take up so much room, these stools will provide that much needed space! We are also needing some new station games for both literacy and math stations.

These station games bring so much excitement and engagement to our classroom!

I am also needing books to teach reading skills through. These books are a way that students can easily make connections to the story and that we have countless activities to do with. Having them at my fingertips instead of having to hunt them down will be a life saver!
