My Students

The expert in anything was once a beginner! My students are in the beginning phase of writing. They are learning the foundational skills that they will carry with them forever. Now is the time to help my students grow a love for writing, for someday they may become a famous author!

My students attend a Title I school that is about 95% free and/or reduced lunch.

Our population is at an all time high this year reaching approximately 800 students K-5. I have 20 very special children that are eager to learn. They really enjoy story time. We have a 10 minute time block at the very end of the day right before dismissal that we sit and read from a selected chapter book. They hang on to every word and are anxious to hear more. :)

My Project

My students need writing activities that include building sentences, nonfiction writing and lined writing paper to improve their penmanship and writing skills. In our class we are working on becoming super star writers. I have several students who really struggle with basic sentence structure and we could really use these materials to help us improve our writing. With these materials my students will be able to practice writing simple sentences as well as adding descriptive words to create super sentences. They will also be able to write informational sentences by using the informative sentence tiles. By using these materials my students will be able to become better writers and build their confidence!

This project will help my students to build their foundational skills in writing.

They will learn how to build super sentences that then can turn in to super stories! Please help us become super star writers!
