My Students
I teach third grade at a Title I school where my students are not provided many opportunities that some of their more affluent peers are provided. Many come from one-parent families or are raised by grandparents or other family members. Some are refugees from war-torn countries.
Even with all of that, one thing they all have in common is their love to learn!
They are excited and engaged when something interests them, but in order to help keep them engaged, they need resources like up-to-date books and other materials that their parents cannot often afford. So I have to rely on sites like DonorsChoose or use my own funds to help provide opportunities for my students.

My Project
My students work hard every day. These materials will be used in conjunction with our ClassDojo Classroom Management System. Students will be able to earn and redeem points to purchase items. These materials will help encourage students to excel and change behaviors in a positive way. These items will be placed in the class store for students to purchase using their points. The more points students earn the more items students are able to earn. Our store will be used as an incentive for positive behavior and academic excellence in school.
Students will have the opportunity to "cash out" and then purchase items from our "Dojo Store."
All items on this list will be available in the store and will allow students to learn about the concept of money and how to spend and save to get something that they really want!
