Super Speech, Lovely Language, and Healthy Hearing
My students need a laptop computer and printer for software that supports basic speech/language skills, sign language libraries, and communication books.

My Students
Help us communicate! Are you able to speak and/or hear? Have you had difficulty saying everyday words clearly and fluently? Did you ever mix up your words, or have trouble getting the words to come out the correct way? Can you tell your wants/needs without pictures or sign language?
We provide services to 75 speech, language, and/or deaf/hearing impaired students with multiple levels of needed support.
These students are now in 3 separate temporary buildings, in 3 different cities, due to an EF-4 tornado that ripped apart their school, community, and many of their homes and family businesses in our small Indiana town. This tornado also removed all the therapy materials used to provide the support they require. Our students range from 3 years old through grade 12, so the materials they lost covered a large range of age appropriate and ability appropriate materials.
My Project
Consistent intervention strategies are the key to success for our students, and maintaining interest is the foundation of our service. A laptop computer will allow continued use of research-based software, and provide access to the on-line sign language library resources. The printer is used to create communication books for our nonverbal students and social stories for students with social language challenges. Computer designed programs are often the most successful for students with social language difficulties.
Your donation will support each of our 75 students and their individual needs, by providing access to software programs and Internet resources currently unavailable to them.
They will be able to reinforce basic concept skills, articulation skills, language tasks, social language activities, and sign language practice through use of the laptop and printer. Please help our students obtain "Super Speech, Lovely Language, and Healthy Hearing."
