This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Teaching at a Title I school, my students walk through my door facing many challenges—taking care of baby brothers and sisters so mom can go to work, getting themselves up and dressed each morning to catch the bus on time, worried about what to eat: Will they miss breakfast? How many more hours until lunch?

When they enter my school, the tone is set for success.

It doesn't matter who you are or where you came from, you will succeed! We will set goals. We will make a plan. We will be successful. We are a team, and we are going to make learning safe, fun, and lifelong.

My Project

I try to build my library around what my kids seem interested in each year, and boy do my kids love the A-Z Mystery Series books, and the My Weird School books! They are begging me for more, so I am trying to deliver!

Creating a better reading life for each of my students is always my goal as their teacher, and providing them books they love is the best way to do that!

I love when I hear students freely talking during lunch or recess about books, and these books are some that they want to talk about and craze. Providing them with these full sets would bring such huge smiles to their faces!
