This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This year 90% of the class were English language learners. Having access to fun and engaging literacy centers really helped my students grow. The students are all at different points in their reading journeys and access to different leveled games makes all students feel successful.
My goal for this project is to build up our classroom literacy centers.
All of my students are on their way to being wonderful readers and these center activities will help them get there.
My students are special because although they may come from many different countries we all come together to be a classroom family who helps each other grow daily.
This past year I was moved up to 2nd grade after 9 years teaching 1st grade in the middle of the year. The year was a whirlwind adventure and I’m looking forward to giving my new second graders access to even more new learning materials.
