My Students
My first grade students come from various backgrounds from inner-city Philadelphia. My students are very hardworking and motivated to learn all the time. They absolutely love hands-on activities, reading, and any project that allows them to be challenged while being creative.
They have so much potential to be awesome readers, writers, and mathematicians, and I am hoping that with a little extra push, they will all be successful and remember their first grade class as the best class they ever had!
My Project
Science is one of my students' absolute favorite subjects each year! I love to see their faces light up when we get to do an experiment and when they learn new facts about the Earth. Even though I love science too, it can be one of the most difficult subjects to teach.
At my school, we do not have science textbooks/workbooks for first grade, and because of that, we don't get any science supplies.
Science is so interesting, but the best part is being able to actually perform experiments and make discoveries. I would love this science kit so that the students could make some more discoveries of their own, and deepen their understanding of the standards we learn each day.
