Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom consists of twenty-three energetic, enthusiastic children who have a passion for learning and putting their knowledge to use. They really enjoy working together in small groups as well as with partners. My students love hands-on activities, projects, and anything messy. One project they really enjoyed was when they monitored different plants to see which roots would absorb water the quickest.
Another thing I really love about my students is their compassion and willingness to help others.
Whenever my students see a classmate that may need extra help, they always jump in to make sure their classmate doesn't get frustrated and show their support for their learning.
My Project
The Learning Science Activity Kit, Science File Folder Games, and Daily Science Journals will help make science much more exciting for my students. They will be able to complete hands-on projects using the Learning Science Activity Kit. For example, they will be able to put together simple machines, explore how the human body works, create electricity and much more. The Science File Folder Games will allow for students to work and learn together either with a small group or with a partner. My students will also be able to use their daily science journals to record what they have learned as well as explore new topics.
Science materials can be very costly, and having these materials will allow my students to experience a more interactive science class.
The science materials I am currently using are worn down, have missing pieces, or have been broken from over-usage throughout the years. These new materials will bring much excitement to my class.
