My students need The JASON Project to connect them to real science and exploration and inspire them to pursue careers in the STEM fields.

My Students
President Bill Clinton said, "The first step to closing the achievement gap is to believe, as I do, that high expectations are for all students. I believe intelligence is equally distributed throughout the world, but opportunity is not. And the same is true within our own country."
My students attend a Title 1 school in Nevada where poverty is becoming an increasingly challenging factor in their education.
The school educates approximately 650 students and 55% of these students partake in free and reduced lunches. They are beautiful children of all colors who are truly thankful for their education, friends, family, and teachers. Some need shelter, some need clothes, some need food, but what they are always willing to give is their spirit of kindness. Their kindness is exhibited in their support of the program, "Be Kind Like Josh." The program honors students who are "caught" being genuinely kind to other in an effort to change the world.
My Project
JASON Project: STEM CURRICULA connects students to real science and exploration to inspire and motivate them to study and pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) fields. Alternative games and digital labs capture a student's attention and sustain their interest while being designed with the practical realities of the classroom in mind.
Students will learn to solve real-world ecological issues, use their knowledge of potential and kinetic energy, create a roller coaster that delivers the most thrills, yet still remains safe for the passengers. Sound great? There's more! Students will learn to accurately predict the path and intensity of hurricanes barreling towards shore, research new sources of energy and take another look at renewable and inexhaustible sources that were once considered ÂÂalternativeÂÂ such as sunlight and wind, and discover what organisms colonize a whale fall to exploring brine seeps in the Gulf of Mexico!
As President Clinton so eloquently stated, "opportunity is not equally distributed in the world." It's my job as an educator to create the opportunity for my students.
Your donation will help motivate students to see they are capable to pursue careers in the STEM fields despite their diverse backgrounds.
