My Students
Do you remember the excitement of science experiments, the joy of testing an idea, and the suspense of waiting to see what will happen? Please help my students experience these same feeling by funding the supplies needed for our class.
My students are third and fourth graders in a small school in Kentucky.
They mostly come from low income families and have little academic enrichment in their lives. When we do a science activity in the class, the students grab a hold of the concept being taught and revel in the experience of the experiment for a long time. Students will talk about the activities they did two or three years ago in class. However because of budget cuts the supplies to do experiments and activities are being cut.
My Project
By funding this project you will provide resources for students to do science experiments for years to come. This will allow my students to learn science concepts in a concrete way that they will remember and enjoy. School will become a place of excitement instead of boredom and learning instead of complaining. Instead of being overwhelmed by concepts taught in an abstract way, the students will be able to learn by hands-on experiments and will retain the information.
Please help my students by providing a meaningful way of learning science in our classroom.
These science activity tubs will change the way my students experience and build on concepts throughout the year and get them excited about science in their daily lives.
