My Students

Remember learning to read? It can be hard and scary, but so much fun at the same time. For many of our students kindergarten is the first time they enter school. Having a small reading table that is teacher centered will allow the students to feel safe and comfortable reading with their teachers.

Kindergarten is the first time many of our students are entering school for the first time.

It can be scary for them but exciting for teachers. I want them to feel empowered and safe when entering our doors. I want to create an environment that allows them to want to learn more and want to read.

Our school is a Title I school, many of our students don't get read to at home, not because they don't want to but because they can't. School is a place where we immerse them in literature and hope they get to love reading just as much as we do.

My Project

My students need new leveled books to continue to grow as Super Readers. I have limited resources and my students are getting bored of the same old adventures. I am asking for the Brand New Readers Classroom Box of Leveled readers, a Guided Science Readers Super Set: Animals, a Level A Guided Science Readers Parent Pack, a Folk & Fairy Tale Easy Readers Parent Pack, a Brand New Readers Winter Fun Box, and a set of Pete the Cat Phonics Mini Books. These new books will help my Super Readers go on new adventures, explore new characters and enter a world they have not entered yet.

Super Readers do everything that real readers can and my super readers need to be able to read new books to help them continue to grow as readers.

Having new books in our classroom will help them get ready for the first grade and become lifelong lovers of super readers.
