Help me give my students a variety of tools to grow as readers and writers.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Lee's classroom raised $166

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a kindergarten teacher, I work with a fun, curious group of learners. In my classroom, I have a wide range of students with various abilities and needs. While some students are getting familiar with letter, sounds, and number identification, others are learning how to sound out and read basic words. Most of my students are English Language Learners from diverse backgrounds. More than 96% of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. My school is safe place where all members of our diverse community learn side by side with one another. It is my school's mission to welcome and celebrate all peoples and to nurture them to be more reflective, cooperative, and kindhearted.
My Project
As the Coronavirus continues to spread, more than half of my kindergarten students will be forced to learn from home. Students in early childhood classrooms need physical materials that will provide hands-on learning experiences to learn about literacy.
I am creating take home baggies with various tools which include colored magnetic letters, pencils, pencil sharpeners, and notebooks.
The magnetic letters will build their knowledge of letters and sounds such as distinguishing the difference between consonants and vowels. The Ticonderoga pencils will help to promote proper grip. The notebooks will help to transition my students to write stories.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
