Super Focused Reading Seating

My students need stool chairs that will improve their learning at the guided reading table.

My Students

Every day my students work with me at the guided reading table. This is a time where I can focus on a few students at a time, and we can work to improve the skills for which they need the most help.

My students are kindergartners who, for the most part, come from low income families and look to school as a consistently safe place.

I try to provide an enriching and safe place for them to learn and grow as students and people. Each and every one of them has worked very diligently since the beginning of the school year and have made incredible gains in literacy and math.

My Project

Every day my students come to work with me at the guided reading/math table. The stools will be used during that time to improve my students' focus and learning. With the stools my students will be able to stay on task more easily because of their ergonomic design. Not only that but, because of their shape and their light weight, my students will be able to move more quickly to the table so that we can get started in a more efficient way.

The groups that I pull are between 5-7 students.

Currently I have standard school chairs at the table and the legs get tangled and stuck on a regular basis. I hope that these stools I am requesting will alleviate this problem, while providing my students with improved focus. The teacher next to me has had great success with these chairs at her guided reading table. I have a few students who have attention issues and I believe these will have a positive impact on their learning.
