This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Dear Donors,

I am a school adjustment counselor at a therapeutic school in Lawrence, MA, where I have the privilege of working with an incredible group of students diagnosed with a range of disabilities including health, academic, emotional as well as Autism.

In our school all of our kiddos have extended school year in their educational plan. Summer school sessions are designed to maintain structure, encourage social interaction, and prevent behavior regressions during the break.

To make this experience meaningful and engaging, I’m requesting your support to fund hands-on, sensory-friendly summer activities which include music and water play that support learning while celebrating each child’s unique strengths. These activities will help promote communication, motor skills, social development, and joy during the summer months.
