Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My kiddos live in a high poverty area. My school is a Title I school. Every day is a struggle for some, more than others. Giving them the opportunity to do hands-on center rotations lets our tactile learners excel.
Learning is fun when using IPads.
Computers and tablets are a must in this day and age of technology. Using other senses helps to differentiate for different types of learners. My goal for my classroom is to create a break from everyday bookwork and worksheets. When we do stations, they get so excited because we get to move around the room while learning.
My Project
My Littles need technology in their Math Center Rotations to practice their sums, their number sense, and their number writing. Knowing what a number looks like and what it stands for is a huge concept that my Littles are working on.
The ability to see a number and know what comes next and what comes before takes a huge amount of practice.
These IPads are a great alternative to worksheets and workbooks.
Not all children learn at the same pace. Having different options for different learning styles is very important to me. My goal is to have all of my Littles at or above grade level.
