Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are imaginative and fun-loving kids. They come from low-income households and have not had much experience with the world outside their small community. They are students with Individualized educational plans, and so this transition was a tough one for them.
Most of my students don't have the ability to learn online.
Many depend on worksheet packets and whatever books they have at home, due to their disabilities. Despite the hardships they are facing with school being closed, they are eager learners and proven this time and time again.
My Project
My students are not used to working on laptops for so long. They need a break. With your help, we can give their young eyes a rest by supplying them with family learning books for the summer. Please help me give my students learning materials for home and distance learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Students are not able to leave their homes due to the quarantine in New York. My students need a variety of activities that will help with reading comprehension, math games and math materials, and hands-on creative materials.
My students need Summer Bridge Activities to complete during the summer months.
My students need kits that contain individualized reading and math materials. These kits also contain hands-on creative materials that make learning exciting! These materials will be mailed directly to my student's home.
