My Project

This grant proposal aims to provide essential nutritional support for elementary students and their families during the critical summer break period when school meal programs are not available.

Students at our school qualify for free breakfast and lunch during the school year.

Many families depend on school meals as a primary source of nutrition. Summer break creates a significant nutritional gap for vulnerable families.

Some of the requested items include:

- Microwaveable macaroni and cheese

- Individual cereal cups

- Granola bars

- Beef jerky

- Crackers

- Gatorade for hydration

- Fresh fruits and vegetables (sourced from local grocery partnerships)

I want to be able to provide nutritional support to families during summer break.

It is important to me to help prevent hunger among elementary students while they are away from school for an extended period of time. These items would help supplement family food resources during school vacation.

This project would have a huge community impact. My idea was inspired by All State's Service Stars Missions. My class would help pack the care packages as part of a community service project. It will help teach them the importance of helping others and giving. It would directly support families experiencing food insecurity. It would also ensures children have access to essential nutrition while away from school. Finally, it would help demonstrate our school community's commitment to student welfare.

The requested items would be part of care packages available to students. The packages would include nutritionally balanced food items, as well as hydration support with the Gatorade. Finally, if possible, it would also show the community partnership development through donations of fresh produce to go in the care packages.
