Summer Science Tiger Style

Help me give my students the supplies to have a successful month long summer science camp.

My Students

Our school is an inner city urban high school, with approximately 950 students, all of whom are underrepresented minority students who qualify for free or reduced lunch. Despite the hardships of he pandemic many of these student shave chosen to engage in out virtual instructional system.

Families and scholars were given the choice of retuning to a face to face hybrid schedule and fewer than 150 out of the 950 students have been coming into our building.

As a result, it is imperative that we give our students and families a way to acclimate themselves back into the traditional classroom environment. All of our students will be asked to return to face to face instruction in the fall of 2021.

As a means to energize our students and the community we will be offering an academic/extracurricular camp for our students during the entire month of June.

My Project

When June 2021 arrives our students will have been participating in virtual learning for 16 months. Our students need an opportunity to slowly reintegrate into the traditional classroom setting.

As a means to re-engage with our school community and population, we will be hosting a summer camp for the entire month of June for students 9th - 13th grades.

This camp will include arts, and crafts, sports, and fun science activities. We will have at least 250 student participating from 9-5 each day and will provide them with three meals, transportation and all of the supplies to have a successful experience.
