Summer School Sewing

Help me give my students proper supplies for our summer school sewing room.

My Project

This is a part two grant. My first grant was to get the sewing machines for our summer school program and many heartfelt donors came through on it for me!

So now we need some supplies.

We need surge protector extension cords due to the fact that most classrooms have only two accessible outlets and I'll have at least 6 sewing machines working at a time. I also need good fabric scissors that will cut with a clean and straight edge. We plan on making several projects and scissors will be a necessary tool.

I'm also asking for sewing clips. I need these to hold the material together as they sew. I find these are safer to use with kids since they aren't pointy. Keeping sewing a safe art this summer! Lastly, extra sewing machine needles. Accidents happen and needles break, so I need a few in reserve to keep us sewing! I'm hoping that by showing kids how to sew, I pass on the love of a lost art!
