This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a teacher in a low-income high poverty school, my student-athletes are faced with many challenges. Both in the classroom as well as outside the classroom. Despite such challenges the students face, I am looking to keep things simple by helping them get healthy and stay healthy. Having a healthier life can build self-confidence which is what the majority of my students need.
The boys' basketball team is trying to take their season to the next level.
However, there are many obstacles in our way. Students are not able to afford the proper equipment to make them able to compete with other schools that have more means. My students use sports as a way to keep their mind off of personal problems they may be facing. being able to help them succeed, and show strength in sports is the motivation they need to do better in life.
My Project
Many of my players struggle financially to purchase the equipment they need to be successful in their sport. By eliminating the stress of my players on how they will afford the things they need, you will help them focus more and give more effort to improve as a team.
Your donations will provide my players with jerseys, team socks and new basketballs.
These donations will help my basketball team improve their skills while looking like a team. When a team looks good, they feel good and in return the will play good. We look forward to having a successful season, and hoping you will be a part of it.
