Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students are brilliantly resilient scholars who come from immigrant, blue-collar households close to downtown LA. Many of them attend school year-round to catch up on reading and writing skills. These students tirelessly work toward fluency in English while continuing to persevere through the struggles of their community.

The culture we are promoting at our school is college readiness through the use of strategies such as physical organization, note-taking, and paraphrasing.

Students are called to be leaders in their community and use their critical thinking skills to help better our communities! Students show up every day ready to tackle the day's objectives and build community with one another.

My Project

These materials are learning tools, learning resources, and decor for students to re-enter a welcoming environment amidst continued COVID concerns and a "new normal." The post it pads will help students learn in small groups, while the Rocketbook will allow my notes to be easily accessible digitally where students will turn in work. The pens will help students excitedly write their notes in color coding along with me and increase their understanding of organizationally taking notes. The border and magnetic ruled paper create fun spaces for students to interact with in our classroom while being safe.

All of these materials will contribute to a successful start of the school year being together but at a distance.

The binding machine will provide me the opportunity to create workbooks for my students so it is easily accessible and enjoyable for them.
