Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My project will allow students to get a hands on learning experience at successfully growing plants. This will allow them to take what we have covered in class through labs, lessons, notes, etc. and actually see it in the real world. They will be able to apply their knowledge and further enhance their understanding which will make a huge difference in their comprehension.

My goal is that all students will have the opportunity to get experience in plant science and agriculture.

We will be propagating succulents and then planting them. They will get to see the whole process from start to finish. This will allow them to explore a potential career path and hopefully gain an interest in this industry.

What makes us special is we are the very first middle school FFA program in the slo county area. I started this program last year and it has been very successful. Students out here come from very low income families so having an FFA program gives them something to be excited about. We have 100% involvement and participation which is so cool and exciting!
