Help me give my students a place where they can receive instruction in a small group setting. The half-moon table is perfect for me to engage with my students and give them the more individualized attention they need.
I am a 4th grade math and science teacher. Many of my students struggle with math concepts and do not have the confidence that they are able to do well. They often tell me that they are "not good in math," with the attitude that they never will be.
My passion lies in helping these students to realize that they are very capable of learning math and to instill the desire to learn these concepts.
Often, in these small groups is where the aha moment happens. They realize their capability and actually ask for more! These moments are why I teach. It is so fulfilling to see a child who had no confidence in themselves ask if they can do more math problems because they are "fun!"
Having an area in my classroom where I can pull these students into smaller groups to give them more individualized instruction is paramount in providing this instruction. The moon-shaped table and stools are perfect for providing the space to implement this intervention. It allows me to be able to monitor their work while addressing their specific needs individually. I also tutoring many of these students after school on my own time. The table and stools will be a great way to have them all together in one space where I can reteach the concepts.
