Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach 7th and 8th grade science at a bilingual school in Buffalo, NY. I would like to start the year with some fresh supplies for students. The students in this program are so smart and capable but often have no school supplies. With a language barrier at home, it is difficult to explain what they need. Many teachers here supply our classrooms with our own money. This was my first year teaching and it really opened my eyes about what it takes to run a successful and FUN classroom.
Teaching science is more fun and exciting when it involves color and having colored paper, markers and colored pencils will help bring the lessons to life.
My goal this year is to help students have everything they need to succeed. This list is mostly basic items that will help students throughout the year and will make it slightly easier to run my classroom. Thank you for considering funding this project.
