This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

What I love most about my students is their resilience, creativity, and curiosity. Despite the many challenges they face, they come to school each day with a spark, ready to learn, to express themselves, and to grow. Teaching middle school students has shown me just how powerful it is when they are given the right tools and support.

Using financial literacy with classroom supplies is a practical way to teach students budgeting, decision-making, and responsible spending.

This approach helps students apply math and financial skills to everyday decisions in a familiar context.

Whether it's for a writing assignment, a diagram, or poster, these supplies help students take pride in their work and feel ownership over their learning.

Each of these resources helps foster a learning environment where every student feels seen, valued, and empowered to succeed, no matter their background.

Mr. Whitaker will only receive his materials if this project is fully funded by January 2.
