My Students
"I need a pencil, I don't have an eraser, my folder ripped." These are examples of common statements made by my kindergarten students on a daily basis. I work with children in a low income area and do my best to have materials for them. All too often, materials are lost, broken or not brought in when needed.
In order for these little ones to get the best education they deserve, they need to have materials to get them through each day.
My Project
These materials will help my students increase their reading, writing and creative abilities. So many of my children are coming to kindergarten with no prior experience in a school setting, some having never interacted with children outside of their family. Having materials such as magnetic letters, markers, crayons and tablets to give them freedom of creativity is something that will allow them to grow and gain such confidence.
The phonics sets will give the children hands-on activities to help them read and write, a skill which will carry them throughout the rest of their education.
Your help with be everlasting for these children and their future learning.
