This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am an ESS Counselor and the PBIS Coordinator in Yuma, AZ. One of my responsibilities is to assist students making the transition from the self - contained classrooms to the general education population. Some of the biggest challenges my students face is making the transition to the general education classroom from such a small setting. Having these headphones on hand will help in making the transition successful. The headphones are a popular tool for students to cope with sound sensitivity and sensory defensiveness in an environment that is often clouded with new noises.
If they struggle, this in turn can lead to behavioral reactions and personal battles in their everyday activities, making it a challenge for them to be successful.
Please consider helping my students become part of the inclusive setting and prepare them for the world outside of school and their very promising futures!
