This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We have been experimenting with sublimation thanks to our generous donors who have funded our Cricut supplies. It's a lot of fun, but it's also a huge pain in my posterior because you have to be incredibly careful and steady-handed in order to make some of these projects work.
A sublimation oven would be a tremendous help for when we work on tumblers and mugs.
We have a small press especially made for mugs and tumblers, but there are so many different sizes that it's nearly impossible to get the press lined up just right. Additionally, it takes a lot of time to make more than one or two so an oven would allow us to put several in at once for sublimation. In addition, we are in need of some more blanks like dog ID tags as well as the general supplies like a specialized tape dispenser and shrink wrap for our projects.
My students love working with these materials and watching their creative ideas come to life. Not only is it something fun to do, it's a chance to learn skills that they would never otherwise at home. Help me help my students find their creative sides!
